He Takes A Pencil And Creates Art...But Not In The Way You Might Think

Pencils are one of the most common tools used to create art, yet artist Salavat Fidai uses them to their full potential. Of course, Fidai's pencil work is a little different that you might expect, because he's not drawing with the pencil — he's turning the pencil itself into art.

Using a sharp razor and very steady hands, Fidai carves the graphite tips of pencils into tiny yet incredibly detailed sculptures. The video below shows his process for this particular sculpting method. Watch as he turns a pencil tip into a familiar character.
