The map, which is a durable balloon filled with air, has a detailed print on it that expands when squeezed, revealing details that were not initially visible. Sator points out that the modern technologies we often rely on can be finicky – smartphones need data or WiFi coverage and charged batteries while ordinary maps are easily torn and damaged. This beautifully-colored balloon, on the other hand, is waterproof and can be brought anywhere.
Sator eventually plans to sell the maps and to design them for other cities as well, so be sure to follow his work if you like it!
